Engaged by Gibbs Gabe Architects, 818 studio prepared the landscape design for a new commercial plaza in Calgary’s southeast. Our team proposed a number of low impact development (LID) strategies for stormwater management in keeping with the client’s directive to provide an enhanced site design.

• Focused on harvesting as much stormwater as possible for reuse within the site and to keep landscape maintenance to a minimum.

• Created soft landscape strategies that utilized vegetated swales, bioretention cells and tree box filters in conjunction with a native plant material palette.

• Designed hardscaped areas, entry features, custom fencing and tree grates.
